We are currently seeking dedicated board members who are passionate about this cause and willing to support our mission through what we call the Three T’s: Time, Talent, and Treasure-in a way that aligns with your capacity, estimating a commitment of 6 hours per year.
What We Expect from Board Members:
1. Time - A commitment to attending board meetings and participating in discussions.
o At least one board meeting per year (approximately 3-4 hours total).
o At least 1-2 additional hours throughout the year to provide input on initiatives via email, phone, or videoconference.
2. Talent - Bringing your unique expertise, insights, and professional skills to support the organization’s growth and impact.
o Contribute ideas, strategic counsel, or leadership to help drive initiatives.
o Engage in the same forementioned at least 1-2 hours annually to provide input, guidance, or expertise outside of meetings.
o Assist with identifying and nominating additional board members when needed.
3. Treasure - A financial contribution, as we believe every board member should support the organization according to their means.
o The minimum contribution is $1 per month ($12 per year), though larger gifts are always
welcome.
o This ensures that if a potential donor asks, "Do all your board members support you financially?" we can confidently say, "Yes, every board member is invested in our mission and contributes according to their means."
As a non-profit expert guiding us in this endeavor has said, "A non-profit lives or dies based on the support they get from the board." Your time, talent, and treasure will directly contribute to our ability to serve those affected by cancer and cardiovascular risk.
Would you be interested in supporting our mission in this way? We would love to have you on the board and value your leadership in advancing this work, at ~6 hours/year. Board terms are up to 1-3 years.

Description
The My Heart Spark Foundation, Inc. envisions a world where all individuals-especially cancer survivors and underserved communities-receive innovative, proactive cardiovascular care. We aim to transform cardio-oncology and preventive cardiology into accessible, patient-centered, and data-driven fields. Through research, education, technology, and advocacy, we advance AI-powered, generalizable, and equitable care.
As a non-profit research and education organization, we will operate across three pillars:

- Education & Training: We deliver education to providers and patients, offering digital courses, workshops, and community health outreach to build knowledge and confidence in cardiovascular wellness.
- Advocacy & Engagement: We champion patient empowerment through community events, cultural wellness initiatives, and direct advocacy services, reducing barriers to care.
Funding sources include grants, sponsorships, donations, and partnerships.
