ORGANIZATION: It's a Sensory World!

We're looking for fun, energetic, and inclusive volunteers to join us for Summer Camp 2025! Whether you love working directly with kids or prefer helping behind the scenes, there’s a spot for you on our team.

Volunteers can support campers with activities, games, and daily routines-or help out around the building with organizing supplies, prepping materials for camp counselors, and keeping things running smoothly.

If you’re enthusiastic, reliable, and ready to make a positive impact this summer, we’d love to have you on board!

Mission: To serve children with special needs and their families with customized, sensory-based programs to maximize developmental potential leading to independence and inclusion. Vision: Children with special needs are purposefully included in the community.

Description

Who Are We?

It’s a Sensory World! is a center that offers a variety of multi-sensory educational, recreational, and therapeutic services for children with special needs and their families. Our unique programs bridge the gap between therapy and mainstream education and recreation.

Why Are We Different?

  • When we first opened in October 2007, we were the only center offering services supplemental to therapy in North Texas and one of only two in the country. We are the only center where parent empowerment is a central part of our mission.

  • We are the only center in North Texas that offers these unique bridge programs all in one center.

  • We have a large therapeutic gym which is typically only found in a therapy setting. Our gym is unique because it is open to the public, and we use it to provide the students enrolled in our many programs with the intense sensory input they need.

  • We have a unique, child-centered approach which blends multiple disciplines, including speech and language, sensory integration, behavior modification and special education.
