Volunteers are responsible for offering: safety and excellent hospitality to all who visit Seton Center by providing a dignified experience of charity; ability and openness to train and cross-train in the tasks needed to accomplish our mission in the Outreach Office and Thrift Store; and hope to our under-served, under-resourced neighbors.
Staff supervisors will provide tasks that may range in location within our facility. Our goal is to follow the workload. Tasks specific to this opportunity include: assessing the condition and viability of donated items; recommending if and how repairs can be made to make the most of its value; and provide tasks such as painting, varnishing, staining and repairing small furniture, shelving, and other various items. This work may be picked-up, taken to your home for the repair work, and returned to the Thrift Store for sale.
