Seton Center volunteers are responsible for offering: safety and excellent hospitality to all who visitor by proviing a dignified experience of charity; ability and willingness to train and cross-train in the tasks needed in the Outreach Office and Seton Thrift Store; and hope to our under-served, under-resourced neighbors.
Volunteers assist with tasks offered by their staff supervisor. These tasks may range in location from the Outreach Office to the Thrift Store. The tasks particular to this opportunity are assisting with: cleaning and organizing Seton Center's food pantry; plastic, cardboard and trash recycling; tracking inventory; rotating foods; stocking shelves; food purchase pick-ups; food drop set-up, execution and tear down on the last two Thursdays of the month.

Description
Seton Center, Inc. is a social service organization in northern Frederick County MD. We provide financial assistance for mortgage, rent, utility, clothing and medical expenses. We also offer the Seton Family Store (thrift shop), and programs and services to guide and support client growth in the areas of life skills such as literacy, financial and health management.
We serve those living at the federal poverty AND/OR the ALICE (Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed) rate; those working for wages that do not support even the basic living expenses. We believe that each person is unique and should be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of race, creed or financial status.
