Linked Family Services is seeking compassionate, reliable volunteers to support our First Kick to First Steps Moms Group-a monthly support group for Black and Brown women who are pregnant or parenting a child under age 2.

Rooted in the evidence-based Parents as Teachers curriculum, this group offers education, connection, and a safe space for new and expecting mothers to grow together.

As a volunteer, you’ll help with:

  • Greeting and welcoming participants

  • Assisting with setup and cleanup

  • Supporting registration and light logistics

  • Creating a warm, respectful, and culturally affirming environment

  • Offering a listening ear and extra hands as needed

Time Commitment:
2-4 hours per month (one session per month)
Flexible commitment with preference for consistency

Ideal Volunteers:
This opportunity is perfect for students in public health, social work, education, or maternal/child health fields-or anyone passionate about community wellness, maternal health, and supporting Black and Brown families.

Description

Linked Family Services (LFS) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the Philadelphia area and surrounding counties. Our commitment lies in fostering positive change and enhancing the well-being of our community.

We offer programs and services that address critical needs, including combating diaper and food insecurity, promoting childhood literacy, and advancing maternal and paternal health within the BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community. Additionally, we support the stability and growth of families by providing workforce development resources and access to job training opportunities.
