ROCKBlue is seeking a dynamic Assistant to the CFO to support our nonprofit’s finance and accounting functions. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the President, the Assistant to the CFO will help with financial strategy, budgeting, reporting, and compliance while ensuring strong fiscal management.

This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support fundraising, financial planning, and organizational growth. ROCKBlue is seeking a dynamic Assistant to the CFO to support our nonprofit’s finance and accounting functions. Reporting to the CFO and working closely with the President, the Assistant to the CFO will help with financial strategy, budgeting, reporting, and compliance while ensuring strong fiscal management.

This role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to support fundraising, financial planning, and organizational growth. The Assistant to the CFO will play a key role in advancing ROCKBlue’s mission, gaining exposure to all aspects of nonprofit financial management, and developing leadership and communication skills within a diverse global team.

Responsibilities
  • Assisting with leadership, direction and management of the finance and accounting team

  • Help ensure the organization meets legal, financial, and ethical standards.

  • Monitor divisional plans (called OGSMs), and help the CFO to accomplish the plans

  • Focus more on results than activities; employ an effective weekly tracking mechanism of tasks and ensure team accountability through delegation and motivation

  • Assist with Overall budget planning and management

  • Help secure needed team members, delegate to them as much as possible, motivate and encourage them, provide them with timely guidance (e.g., in their IQOs) and feedback, and hold them accountable to their tasks and IQOs. For part-time team members, focus more on discrete assignments than general responsibilities

  • Timely responsiveness and reporting to EXCO at weekly meetings

  • Review the divisional budgets together with the operations team.

  • Preparation and deliver monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements to executives and board of directors

  • Budgeting ,forecasting and compliance with financial standards and regulatory bodies.
