Do you adore cuddling kitties? Would you feel fulfilled by helping homeless cats find their forever homes?

We are currently seeking volunteers at our various offsite cat adoption locations in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Volunteers will be responsible for providing care and socialization to help the cats be their best selves, providing food & water, and scooping litter boxes. Playing toys with the cats and cuddling them is highly encouraged!

We ask that volunteers at our offsite locations commit to a minimum of any 2 shifts per month. Shifts are morning and evening, 7 days a week. You can choose shifts that work the best for your schedule. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Come give these kneady cats some love and help them find their purrfect families!

Location:

111 West Hunting Park Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19140, US

Mission Statement

ACCT Philly’s mission is to provide shelter, care and life saving efforts for homeless, abandoned, and abused animals and protect the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Philadelphia, providing a benefit to all of the citizens of the City regardless of race or economic status.

Description

The Animal Care & Control Team of Philadelphia (ACCT Philly) is the region’s largest animal care and control service provider. ACCT Philly is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization, contracted by the City of Philadelphia to provide animal control services. Our animal control officers provide service to over 142.6 square miles to the city’s more than 1.5 million residents and ACCT Philly’s facility in North Philadelphia handles more than 32,000 of the city’s animals, from dogs and cats, to small animals, reptiles, birds and wildlife, annually.

In addition to animal control and sheltering, ACCT Philly is open 365 days a year for pet adoptions. ACCT Philly also supports a foster care program where community members provide temporary homes for sheltered animals and one of the (if not THE) most extensive rescue partnership program in the country where approved rescue partners accept ACCT Philly animals into their adoption programs. Under contract ACCT Philly’s Animal Control Officers provide animal control services and code enforcement. Other exciting ACCT Philly programs include a food pantry for low-income pet owners, a vibrant volunteer program, trap-neuter-return for community cats, a unique Pen Pal program to assist dogs at risk ... and so much more!
