Saylorville Lake - Campground Booth Attendant

The campground booth attendant volunteer’s primary duty is to staff the campground entrance station for the entirety of the campground season May - mid-October. Duties include operating a computer to access the reservation website Recreation One Stop, check daily reservations, process check-ins and check-outs, and manage camping reservations. There will be no monetary transactions for reservations or passes. The volunteer(s) will inform visitors of campground policies and procedures, rules and regulations, but will NOT enforce them. The volunteer must provide their own reliable, licensed vehicle, fuel, and insurance to perform rounds in the campground. This vehicle can be a car/truck, moped, golf cart, bicycle or similar with approval from volunteer supervisor. Volunteers must maintain a valid driver’s license. Mileage reimbursement is available. Volunteers will average 21 hours of service per week. Workdays vary each week with 3 days on, 6 days off rotation, 5 hours per day. Volunteers will be provided a full hook up campsite with water, electric and sewer hookups in Acorn Valley or Prairie Flower Campgrounds. Schedule includes: Days rotate 3 on, 6 off so will be required to work all days at some point.
Individuals need to be able to work independently and as a team as there will be other booth volunteers. Operate campground reservation system, Recreation One Stop. Provide visitor information in relation to reservations, the campground, Saylorville Lake, and the area. Perform rounds in the campground to observe campsite occupancy status and ensure visitor compliance. Be the eyes and ears in the campground reporting any issues to Park Rangers.
