DearJuvie offers a fully online, flexible, and meaningful volunteer opportunity for students and young changemakers who want to support justice-involved youth from anywhere. Volunteers can write letters of encouragement to juvenile detainees, help design digital resources, contribute to social media advocacy, and join virtual workshops focused on legal reform and restorative justice. All participation can be done remotely on your own schedule, making it easy to balance with school and other commitments. If you’re looking for a powerful way to make a difference from home-and believe in second chances-DearJuvie is the perfect place to start.

About DEAR JUVIE
Location:
440 Highway 377 N Unit 365, ARGYLE, TX 76226, US
Mission Statement
We are a youth-led organization that seeks to connect detained youth in juvenile detention or correctional facilities to youth in the community through letters of hope, love, and encouragement. Together, we can combat the loneliness and disconnection felt behind detention walls that have helped contribute to skyrocketing numbers of mental health issues in juvenile detainees. Using the power of the written word, we believe that all youth should be able to feel seen and heard - no matter where they are.
Description
DearJuvie is a teen-led, 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in Denton County, Texas, dedicated to supporting justice-involved youth through peer encouragement, access to legal support, and restorative opportunities. The organization connects juvenile detainees with handwritten letters of hope, offers pro bono legal assistance through partnerships with attorneys and law firms, provides court-approved volunteer hours, and is working to implement vocational education programs that equip youth with practical skills for life after detention. Through advocacy, mentorship, and second chances, DearJuvie is building a more compassionate and youth-centered justice system.
