Fundraising Volunteer - Ignite Classical School

Location: Remote
Commitment: 5-10 hours/month | Flexible schedule
Reports to: Head of School and Associate Chief of Staff

Position Overview
Ignite Classical School seeks a passionate and detail-oriented Fundraising Volunteer to support our growing development and advancement efforts. This role is ideal for someone with experience or interest in nonprofit fundraising, grant writing, donor engagement, or campaign strategy-and who is excited to be part of a visionary school community.

Working closely with the Director of Advancement and school leadership, the volunteer will help lay the groundwork for long-term fundraising success, contributing to critical initiatives such as our major gifts program, annual campaigns, and grants portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in shaping and executing a multi-year development and advancement strategy

  • Support planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns, including annual appeals and special events

  • Help research and cultivate prospective major donors and assist in stewardship planning

  • Identify relevant grant opportunities and support the writing and submission of grant proposals

  • Maintain and improve donor records, tracking systems, and acknowledgment processes

  • Collaborate with staff to ensure fundraising messaging reflects Ignite’s mission, impact, and values

  • Attend occasional planning meetings (virtual or in person) and contribute to a collaborative team culture

Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about educational equity and the mission of Ignite Classical School

  • Strong communicator with solid writing and/or storytelling skills

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated

  • Comfortable working with Google Workspace and/or donor databases (helpful but not required)

  • Prior experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, or grant writing a plus-but not necessary
