Volunteer Job Description: Weekly Email Newsletter Support

Position Title:
Weekly Email Newsletter Support Volunteer

Time Commitment:
2-4 hours per week

Overview:
The Greater Phoenix Equality Chamber of Commerce is seeking a detail-oriented and creative volunteer to assist with the creation and distribution of our weekly email newsletter. This is a great opportunity to support LGBTQ+ businesses and community initiatives while gaining experience in marketing and communications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in drafting, formatting, and proofreading weekly email newsletters using our email platform (Constant Contact)

• Curate and organize content including event announcements, member spotlights, community news, and program updates.

• Design graphics as needed in Canva.

• Ensure consistent branding, tone, and layout across all newsletters

• Coordinate with staff for content deadlines and approvals

• Monitor engagement metrics (opens, clicks, etc.) and suggest improvements for future campaigns

Qualifications:

• Strong written communication skills

• Basic knowledge of email marketing platforms (experience with Constant Contact a plus)

• Familiarity with LGBTQ+ community values and events

• Detail-oriented with good time management skills

• Ability to work independently and meet weekly deadlines
