Our volunteers recover healthy meals from commercial donor cafeterias and deliver them to specified nearby non-profit organizations. Every meal saved stays out of the landfill, helping the environment, while also nourishing our community in need.
The volunteer role would involve:
- Picking up meals from one of our donors, Burlington Stores HQ, in Burlington, and
- Delivering these meals to our non-profit community partner/s in Burlington.
Each volunteer task should take no longer than 90 minutes including travel time between donor and recipient. Pick-up will be on Thursday afternoons at 3:00 pm from Burlington Stores HQ and the drive to our NPO recipient in Burlington, which should be no more than 10 minutes away. We require volunteers to drive their own car. This opporunity will happen weekly and, while we welcome regular participation, we will work with your schedule (volunteer as you wish policy). Insulated bags will be provided to carry food donations. This route is expected to start May 1, 2025.

Mission Statement
Our mission is to fight both food insecurity and the environmental impact of food waste by recovering and delivering healthy meals to local communities.
Description
Share My Meals is a NJ-based nonprofit organization that fights both food insecurity and the environmental impact of food waste by recovering and delivering healthy meals to the local community. Working with its local partners, Share My Meals addresses both of these critical issues at once with a unique, tech-enabled model that recovers healthful, prepared meals, and delivers them to families in need. We collect balanced meals made from surplus prepared foods from commercial food service providers and distribute them directly to the homes of families and non-profit organizations, leveraging volunteers and technical solutions to create a seamless, sustainable model.
