Remodeling Schoolyards in Oakland
Eat. Learn. Play., alongside KABOOM! and the Oakland Unified School District, has now fully remodeled 17 schoolyards. Stemming from the imagination of Oakland students, these kid-designed spaces provide access to safe and high-quality schoolyards for students and the surrounding school community.
As part of our vision to transform the school experience for a generation of Oakland students, Eat. Learn. Play. has been working to ensure all Oakland elementary and middle school students have access to the resources, support, and spaces for kids to thrive and have great childhoods. Our work includes remodeling more than 25 public elementary schoolyards throughout Oakland by the end of 2026 to be the dream places for kids to play, learn, and spend time with their classmates.
