The Generation Hope "Hope Corps" Program is Generation Hope’s childcare volunteer program, consisting of 50+ childcare volunteers who are able to commit to providing childcare for at least three Scholar events each programmatic year (at least one shift per event).
Hope Corps members commit to serving on the Hope Corps for a period of at least one programmatic year (July - June).
Hope Corps members are trained on and commit to upholding specific volunteer policies & expectations, including Generation Hope’s childcare approach, and must all complete a background check.
Hope Corps Childcare Volunter Requirements:
Passion for working with children
Ability and initiative to lead games, activities, and projects with children
Ability to maintain discipline and enforce behavior management
Weekend availability (periodically throughout the year)
Cultural competency - ability to work with youth from different backgrounds (racial, class, cultural, etc)
Commitment to upholding Generation Hope childcare approach/policy
Commitment to Generation Hope values
Excellent customer service skills
Clear background check
Willingness to come to training
Consistent communication with staff
Hope Corps Childcare Volunteer Preferred Skills:
Experience in early childhood education
Prior experience working with young parents
CPR/First Aid/AED Training
Skills in arts/music/dance/sports

To ensure all student parents have the opportunities to succeed, experience economic mobility, and build wealth, Generation Hope engages education and policy partners to drive systemic change and provides direct support to teen parents in college as well as their children through holistic, two-generation programming.
Description
The Generation Hope Scholar Program surrounds teen parents with mentoring, tuition assistance, a peer community, and other vital, wrap-around services to help them earn their degrees.
Throughout the year, Scholars receive trainings on topics such as life balance and academic planning, as well as free tutoring, mental health supports, and career preparation. Scholars will also have access to family-friendly events and our annual Hope Conference, which provides life and career advice from experts within the community.
