At His Daughters House, we invite compassionate, dependable individuals to support our Domestic Violence Survivors Academy: a transformative 9-month program designed to help women heal from trauma, rebuild their lives, and reclaim their power. Volunteers play a vital role in ensuring each session runs smoothly and provides a welcoming, safe space for survivors.

This volunteer opportunity takes place every other Friday (biweekly), beginning April 25, 2025, and concluding on January 23, 2026. Sessions are held in Riverside County, and each gathering is structured to foster trust, empowerment, and connection among participants. While one-time support is appreciated, we encourage volunteers to commit to at least one session per month to build consistency and impact.

As a volunteer, you may help with setting up the room, arranging materials, preparing refreshments, and offering hospitality to participants as they arrive. Your presence helps create an atmosphere of dignity and calm. For those interested and cleared through our background check process, there are also opportunities to assist with childcare, allowing mothers to focus fully on their own healing during Academy sessions. Volunteers may also help facilitators during workshops by managing supplies or helping with transitions between activities. We occasionally invite volunteers to support wellness and self-care activities such as distributing care packages, coordinating a relaxation station, or organizing small gifts that uplift the women participating.

We ask that all volunteers approach this work with a trauma-informed mindset, honoring confidentiality, respecting boundaries, and offering non-judgmental encouragement. Volunteers are not expected to provide counseling or case management, they are present to serve with kindness, reliability, and humility.

This is a deeply meaningful opportunity for those who want to walk alongside survivors in their journey. The impact of your presence goes far beyond logistics, you become part of a group of restoration, reminding each woman that she is not alone and that her healing matters.

Mission Statement

HIS Daughters House (HDH) is a nonprofit organization driven by a commitment to enhance health and well-being for those in need. At HIS Daughters House, our mission is to offer temporary housing assistance and long-term healthcare solutions to individuals and families who are chronically homeless, at risk of homelessness, or in need of access to healthcare services. With a strong focus on serving as a SafetyNet, we empower those we serve by connecting them with essential support services and community resources. Our goal is to help them regain stability and achieve lasting self-sufficiency.

Description

Organization Description

His Daughters House was founded by women who turned their own experiences of homelessness and domestic violence into a mission of healing, empowerment, and restoration for others. What began as a vision to create a safe space for survivors has grown into a trauma-informed, community-rooted organization serving hundreds of individuals and families across Southern California.

Our goal is simple but powerful: to walk alongside people in crisis, especially women, veterans, foster youth, and unhoused individual. We aim to help them rebuild lives marked by safety, health, and self-sufficiency. We believe in meeting people where they are with compassion, cultural humility, and practical tools for change.

Through our signature Domestic Violence Survivors Academy, CalAIM-integrated healthcare coordination, rapid rehousing programs, and peer mentorship, we’ve helped survivors find stability, reconnect to care, and rediscover their strength.

Volunteers play a critical role in our success, from assisting at wellness events and sorting donations to supporting outreach, admin, and peer support activities. When you volunteer with His Daughters House, you’re not just giving your time, you’re helping someone find home again.
