About NuWave Community Media
NuWave is a nonprofit organization centered around empowering underrepresented communities through media production, educational digital literacy, and digital wellness. We create space for creative expression, safety online, and growth in the digital age-while also amplifying local voices through storytelling, content creation, and community programming.

Who I Am
I’m Julian Reed, Executive Director of NuWave. I’ve been funding and growing this organization with personal resources and passion, and as I return to full-time work to continue supporting this mission, I’m looking for a hands-on partner to help operate NuWave from the inside out. This isn’t just a volunteer role-it’s a collaborative development partnership with someone who wants to help build a meaningful, sustainable organization alongside me.

The Role: Executive Operations Partner
We’re seeking someone to assist with the day-to-day operations and long-term planning of NuWave. You’d be working directly with me to organize, streamline, and execute the big-picture vision while also helping with essential details that keep us moving. This is a unique opportunity to step into a leadership-level collaboration and help shape the systems, structure, and future of a community-driven media nonprofit.

Your role might include:

  • Organizational Support: Assisting in project planning, timelines, and internal systems across media, education, and outreach

  • Team Coordination: Helping keep team communication and tasks flowing smoothly across different program areas

  • Strategy Development: Collaborating on operational plans, program growth, and funding strategy development

  • Administrative & Executive Assistance: Supporting scheduling, document organization, grant timelines, and reporting

  • Internal Communications: Helping manage project updates, task boards, and internal check-ins

This is a remote opportunity, flexible and built around project-based collaboration. It’s ideal for someone who thrives in leadership support roles and wants to co-develop a mission-focused organization.

Who You Are
You’re organized, proactive, and a strong communicator. You don’t need a degree, but experience in nonprofit work, operations, administration, or project coordination is a plus. You enjoy working closely with leadership, and you’re comfortable being both collaborative and self-directed. A passion for media, education, or social impact work is key-and this could be a strong step for someone wanting to grow into executive-level nonprofit work.

Let’s Build Something Together
If you’re someone who loves systems, leadership, and behind-the-scenes work that keeps big ideas moving, this is the kind of partnership that could grow into something powerful. Join me in shaping NuWave’s next chapter and ensuring we’re building from a solid, thoughtful foundation.

Mission Statement

NuWave Media provides diverse communities with open access to opportunities in New Media and Marketing, who are in pursuit of academic, career, and lifelong learning goals. NuWave is guided by a shared vision and values, commitment to engagement, learning, and achievement, and offers skills that prepare the community for a productive future

Description

New media is the demand of the new age. Individuals, businesses, and entrepreneurs who have adopted new concepts have an edge and are already capitalized on this idea. And by reinforcing projects and brands with new media and other marketing tactics, they have experienced a stronger impact and greater reach to their target audiences.

We provide a space for students and the community, where they can get hands-on experience on media, new media, and apply other marketing techniques to projects, through training, mentorship, and experiential peer-to-peer learning. NuWave members will be active learners and will be responsible for creating and assessing short and long-term project goals. They will experience the process of working with a team, generating ideas, meeting deadlines, generating concepts, analyzing target audiences, recording, editing, sound engineering, and learning to be effective and skilled communicators and critical thinkers.
