About NuWave Community Media
NuWave is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering communities through media production, digital literacy, and educational programming. We amplify local voices, foster digital wellness, and strengthen community ties. Our mission blends creativity and education, guiding people to navigate the digital world safely while creating opportunities for expression and growth.

Who I Am
I’m Julian Reed, Executive Director and Executive Producer at NuWave. I’ve poured my heart and resources into growing this organization, and as I transition back to full-time work to continue to fund NuWave, I’m looking for a Media Program Coordinator to become a key partner in developing and executing our media projects. This role is not just a volunteer position-it’s a true partnership to help shape our programs and build sustainable growth. You'll work closely with me the Executive Producer side, to bring NuWave’s vision to life and develop our media initiatives for long-term impact.

The Role: Media Program Coordinator
We’re seeking a Media Program Coordinator to partner with our team in overseeing the planning, execution, and success of our media programs. As a key collaborator, you will help steer projects from concept to completion, ensuring our work aligns with NuWave’s mission and goals. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborative Project Management: Assisting in executing and tracking media-related projects, from podcasts to digital content, ensuring smooth workflows and timely completion

  • Creative & Operational Support: Supporting the Executive Producer in content creation, program planning, and media strategy

  • Content Development: Contributing to media plans, helping produce content that is relevant, educational, and impactful for our community

  • Administrative Assistance: Handling essential operational tasks such as scheduling, communication, and workflow management to ensure projects run smoothly

  • Strategic Partnership: Collaborating with external partners, volunteers, and team members to help shape and refine our media programs and outreach initiatives

This is a remote partnership with flexibility to work on a project-by-project basis. As a true partner, you’ll have a seat at the table in the creative and operational decisions that drive NuWave’s growth. This opportunity is especially well-suited for those interested in developing a media career, offering hands-on experience in media production and nonprofit operations.

Who You Are
You don’t need a degree, but experience in media production, project management, or nonprofit work is preferred. We’re looking for someone who can work both independently and collaboratively, is organized, and has a strong interest in creative and educational projects. Passion for community empowerment, media, and educational programming is essential, as well as the ability to take initiative and contribute to the long-term success of our programs.

Let’s Partner Up
If you’re passionate about media, education, and community empowerment, and you’re looking for a partnership where you can make a real impact-this is the opportunity for you. It’s also a great fit for anyone looking to grow a career in media. Together, we can continue to grow and develop NuWave into a dynamic force for positive change.

Mission Statement

NuWave Media provides diverse communities with open access to opportunities in New Media and Marketing, who are in pursuit of academic, career, and lifelong learning goals. NuWave is guided by a shared vision and values, commitment to engagement, learning, and achievement, and offers skills that prepare the community for a productive future

Description

New media is the demand of the new age. Individuals, businesses, and entrepreneurs who have adopted new concepts have an edge and are already capitalized on this idea. And by reinforcing projects and brands with new media and other marketing tactics, they have experienced a stronger impact and greater reach to their target audiences.

We provide a space for students and the community, where they can get hands-on experience on media, new media, and apply other marketing techniques to projects, through training, mentorship, and experiential peer-to-peer learning. NuWave members will be active learners and will be responsible for creating and assessing short and long-term project goals. They will experience the process of working with a team, generating ideas, meeting deadlines, generating concepts, analyzing target audiences, recording, editing, sound engineering, and learning to be effective and skilled communicators and critical thinkers.
