JEXA Awards is seeking a skilled and dedicated Certified Public Accountant (CPA) volunteer to provide financial oversight and accounting expertise. This role is crucial to maintaining the organization’s financial health, ensuring compliance with nonprofit regulations, and supporting sound fiscal management.

• Review and oversee the accuracy of financial records, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements

• Assist in budget preparation and monitor budget performance throughout the year

• Ensure financial practices comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and nonprofit regulations

• Provide guidance on financial policies, internal controls, and operational procedures

• Prepare or review financial reports for the board and stakeholders

• Support year-end audit preparation and liaise with external auditors as needed

• Advise on tax filings, grant compliance, and financial risk management

• Collaborate with the board and staff to promote transparency and fiscal responsibility

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license in good standing

• Experience with nonprofit accounting and financial management preferred

• Strong understanding of nonprofit tax laws, GAAP, and financial reporting requirements

• Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to communicate financial information clearly

• Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a volunteer team
