Hold Hands

Imagine giving a family caregiver the one thing they need most: a moment to rest.

Compassionate Hospice services patients at the end of life and their familes. Being a cargiver for a loved one at the end of life is incredibly selfless but exhausting roles because they are always on being emotional present, physically available, and constantly attentive. Most caregivers don't have regular time off and may need a break. A respite volunteer gives them the opportunity to step away and take care of their daily needs like:

  • Grocery Shopping
  • Doctors Appointments
  • Going to church or spiritual gatherings
  • Running errands
  • Taking a quiet walk
  • To spend time with other family members or friends
  • Self care activities like exercise, reading, resting their bodies, refueling emotionally

That's where you come in! As a Respite Volunteer you will offer brief but vita support to caregiver and sit with a patient for 1 to 4 hours. Volunteers DO NOT give any medical cares including feeding, toileting, or administering medications. No medical experience is needed and we will provide any training and support you need.
