Join the Naples Zoo Volunteer Primate Expedition Cruise volunteer team and help support one of the top ten Zoo attractions in the United States!*

Our Primate Expedition Cruise takes guests on a boat cruise on our 12-acre lakes and brings them up close and personal with monkeys, apes and lemurs on island habitats. The Primate Cruise Volunteer Team helps manage boat dock operations, provides safety information prior to guests embarking on the cruise, and helps our guests have a great day at the Zoo.

A positive attitude, good communication skills, a love of animals, and a commitment to safety are the only requirements for this role! We will provide training and support as you learn about the Zoo and about boat dock operations.

Primate Cruise volunteers commit to serving at least two four-hour shifts per month, working with a passionate and committed team of staff and volunteers. Volunteer shifts are available mornings and afternoons every day of the week, and flexible scheduling options are available. Volunteers serve on the land-based side of the dock and do not drive the cruise boats.

*The Naples Zoo Primate Expedition Cruise was ranked #8 on USA Today's Top Ten Best Zoo Exhibits in the country, March 2025.

About Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens

Location:

1590 Goodlette Rd, Naples, FL 34102, US

Mission Statement

Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens seeks to inspire people of all ages to respect, value and help conserve wildlife and our natural world.

Description

Naples Zoo is a nationally accredited zoo and yet much more than a walk-through zoo. The nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable institution also features a full day of fun activities. The paved path winds nearly a mile past rare and beautiful animals residing within a historic tropical garden of exotic plants first planted in 1919 with a fascinating history.

In this tropical setting, you can take delight at seeing many of your favorite animals like lions, giraffes, monkeys, pythons, and bears. In addition, you'll also discover feature exhibits and an array of more rarely seen creatures like a giant anteater.

Combining conservation and recreation, Naples Zoo offers fun for every generation. You'll also discover a number of ways to get involved in helping animals. The zoo is accredited by the prestigious Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is an institutional member of the American Association of Zoo Keepers.
