Mission Statement
My Father's House is a prison reentry nonprofit that provides transitional housing, job placement assistance, life-skills training, and a supportive community to men on so they can lead whole and productive lives.
Description
Organizational Background
My Father’s House was founded by Jim Blum in December 2017. Jim spent many years incarcerated in the Colorado Department of Corrections, during which time he developed a desire to help others through ministry. Having made a successful transition on parole with the support of family and friends, he understands first-hand the challenges men face as they move forward with their lives. He founded MFH to provide the same kind of support he received to others in less fortunate circumstances.
Goals
My Father's House is a nonprofit transitional housing community for men on parole; seeking to offer them safe, decent, affordable housing and a community of support. We believe these services are vital, because we know that stability factors such as secure shelter and a sense of belonging are basic, but major contributors to a person's sense of well-being and ability to function at a higher cognitive level in order to acquire new skill sets and positive, healthy ways of thinking.
