Are you and your furry friend looking for a meaningful way to give back? Fresno Hospice is seeking compassionate Pet Therapy Volunteers to visit hospice and provide comfort, companionship, and a touch of joy during a sensitive time in their lives.

Pet therapy brings peace, connection, and emotional relief to patients facing the end of life. Your visits can have a lasting impact on both patients and their families.

What You’ll Do:

  • Visit hospice patients in their homes or care facilities with your certified therapy animal
  • Share the unique comfort that only a furry friend can give
  • Offer a friendly presence, companionship, and conversation
  • Provide emotional support and gentle joy through your pet's presence

We offer flexible scheduling based on your availability

What we’re Looking For:

  1. A certified therapy animal (dogs, cats, or other approved pets)
  2. A compassionate, calm, and friendly demeanor
  3. Willingness to complete our hospice volunteer orientation and training
  4. A desire to bring moments of joy and connection to those at the end of life
  5. Ability to commit to at least one visit per month

Each volunteer completes an application, interview, background check, and online training module.
