Support local farmers, make special memories, and build lasting community by volunteering at the SeaTac Farmers Market this season! We're excited to be entering our second season of the SeaTac Farmers Market, now occurring weekly.

The SeaTac Farmers Market runs every Wednesday, 3-7pm, from June 4 through October 29 at the Matt Griffin YMCA in SeaTac.

Our markets are stewarded by African Community Housing and Development (ACHD), a Black-women-led nonprofit organization based in SeaTac. Our farmers market model is unique in that we prioritize BIPOC vendors, farmers, and artisans, and we take no vendor fees or cut of sales. We also distribute 50+ free produce bags weekly, as well as basic needs resources like diapers, hygiene products, etc., mainly to serve our neighbors in the Delridge/SeaTac areas that may struggle with food insecurity. We also give out youth bucks so kids can practice healthy spending habits, we have unlimited SNAP-EBT matching, a produce buyback program for farmers, vendor equipment rentals, community health and wellness offerings, and much more. Our markets are blossoming hubs of community resilience, and we'd love to have you join us in cultivating abundance in our communities.

Led by visionary women of color, African Community Housing & Development (ACHD) provides culturally-relevant, holistic wraparound social services, education programs, and economic development opportunities by and for the African Diaspora immigrant and refugee community in King County.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Background Check
  • Must be at least 1
  • 2-3 hours per shift: set up shift will be 1-4pm, tear down shift will be 7-9pm.
  • Volunteers may come to set up and leave at 3pm, or choose to help with produce distribution when the market starts, and leave at 4pm. Volunteers are welcome to stay at the market as long as they would like.
