CancerFree KIDS funds innovative childhood cancer research projects in the early stages of development to find gentler, more effective treatments. These high-risk/high-reward grants help researchers prove their concepts, secure additional funding, and work toward ending childhood cancer.
We're on the lookout for awesome volunteers to join us at our booth during the upcoming festival and races. We're stationed in the pre/post-race area, close to where the kid races take place on Saturday. Our goal is to make it a blast for the little ones - last year, we handed out bubbles!
Volunteers at our booth play a crucial role by sharing CFK's mission and spreading the word about the 100 Mile Challenge, making it a fantastic way to engage with our cause. Typically, we have 2-3 volunteers per shift.
Here are the times we'd love your help:a
- Saturday, May 3rd, 8 am-10 am or 10 am-12 pm (Multiple races - CFK Staff there 6 am-8 am)
- Sunday, May 4th, 8 am-10 am (Marathon & half start at 6:30 am - we'll provide info on road closures and suggested parking lots).
We're an official charity with the Flying Pig. If you're a runner and want to represent CFK, we'd love to have your support!
Join us for a fun and meaningful time - your help means the world to us!

Mission Statement
The purpose and mission of CancerFree KIDS is to eradicate cancer as a life-threatening disease in children by funding promising research that might otherwise go unfunded.
Description
CancerFree KIDS aims to find more effective and gentler treatments for childhood cancer by funding innovative research projects in the early stages of development. New ideas need money to grow, yet potential breakthrough treatment methods often go unfunded because pediatric cancer research is drastically limited. CancerFree KIDS provides grants to high-risk/high-reward childhood cancer research projects in these crucial early stages, which allows researchers to prove their concept, secure additional funding, and eventually create new treatments for kids.
