Invasive Species Removal

ORGANIZATION: National Park Service

Help promote biodiversity at Saint-Gaudens National Historical Park in Cornish, NH by joining park staff in removing invasive Garlic Mustard during a critical time of the year along a protected floodplain. This volunteer event at the park's Blow-Me-Down Farm will be held Friday, May 30 from 9:30am to 12:3pm.


Work will be entirely outdoors and moderately to very physically demanding. This work involves bending, kneeling, lifting heavy objects up to 35 pounds. Volunteers should be comfortable working in heat and rain. Event will be rescheduled in the event of extreme or hazardous weather. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided but volunteers should be aware of hazards such as ticks, poison ivy, yellow-jackets, thorns, and brambles. 


Job requires ability to safely bend, kneel, lift, and travel over uneven ground. Must be age 12 and above. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian. A legal guardian will be required to sign a Volunteer Service Agreement and should have a clear and comprehensive knowledge of activities the volunteer will be participating in.
