Overview:
The Sales Intern will support AAWTA’s outreach, partnership, and fundraising initiatives by assisting in the promotion of membership, sponsorship packages, and marketplace offerings. This role is ideal for a driven, people-focused individual interested in sales, nonprofit development, and strategic communication.

As a Sales Intern, you will gain real-world experience in prospecting, relationship building, and sales strategy while directly contributing to the financial growth and mission expansion of a national nonprofit organization committed to empowering African American women in the trucking industry.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assist in identifying, researching, and reaching out to prospective sponsors, partners, and affiliate members

  • Help create and deliver sales pitches, email campaigns, and presentations tailored to potential supporters

  • Maintain and update CRM or prospect tracking spreadsheets

  • Promote AAWTA’s marketplace opportunities, virtual programs, and The Power Hub space

  • Support fundraising campaigns by assisting with donor follow-ups and recognition

  • Help schedule and participate in calls or virtual meetings with potential supporters

  • Collaborate with the marketing and events team to align sales messaging with outreach initiatives

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Interest in business development, marketing, or nonprofit sales

  • Ability to build relationships and represent AAWTA’s mission professionally

  • Organized, self-motivated, and detail-oriented

  • Familiarity with tools like Google Workspace, Canva, or CRM systems is a plus
