By distributing free plant-based meals and clothing, we empower individuals to live healthier and more fulfilling lives. Our mission extends to promoting wellness, plant-based nutrition, and community engagement through partnerships with local schools and businesses.

Role Overview
As a member of the Board of Directors, you will play an essential role in supporting the organization's mission, guiding its strategic direction, and ensuring long-term sustainability. You will collaborate with fellow board members and staff to help create and implement initiatives that serve our communities, focusing on health, wellness, and food access.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Oversight: Help set long-term goals and monitor the effectiveness of programs, initiatives, and financials.

  • Fundraising: Assist with fundraising efforts, which include donor cultivation, grant writing, and identifying new funding opportunities.

  • Advocacy: Serve as a passionate advocate for the organization's mission, promoting its values and programs in the community.

  • Financial Stewardship: Ensure that Plants on Wheels remains financially sound, providing oversight of budgets and financial planning.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the Board Chair, Executive Director, fellow board members, and staff to provide guidance, resources, and support for various job initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for promoting plant-based nutrition, health, wellness, and social equity.

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: nonprofit governance, fundraising, community outreach, finance, education, or public health.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

  • Strong commitment to the organization’s mission and values.

  • Able to make a meaningful contribution annually, including time, resources, or fundraising efforts.
