Team Fox NYC is seeking volunteers to work at their marquee event, The Foxy Gala on Saturday, April 26th. The Foxy Gala is a black-tie cocktail style fundraiser that brings together hundreds of New York based young professionals to raise critical funds and awareness for Parkinson’s Disease. Expect an elegant evening of food tastings, a live DJ and packed dance floor, inspiring speeches and conversations with community members, and lots of fundraising.
Team Fox NYC is a grassroots fundraising community in support of The Michael J. Fox Foundation For Parkinson’s Research. We are a thriving community of young professionals who have a connection to PD. In addition to ranking in the top ten highest grossing fundraising groups for Team Fox nationwide, we also fiercely fight and advocate for policy change, raise awareness and build community through online platforms and social events, and create safe spaces and resources for support.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Volunteers will work on a schedule to cover five assignment areas:
Check In:
Students will be the first point of contact for our high end guests as they arrive. Responsible for greeting, checking guests in on our official guest list, and ushering guests to their photo-op with professional photographers at the step-and-repeat.
Raffle & Silent Auction
We pride ourselves on having a Raffle & Silent Auction selection like no other. With over a hundred high end offerings to choose from, this is truly a highlight of the event. From the hours of 7pm-10pm Volunteers at this station will be responsible for handling guests purchases of raffle tickets, answering guest questions about our raffle offerings, and thoughtfully guiding guests through our silent auction selection. Volunteers on this assignment from 10-11:30pm will assist in updating our "winners" board and ensuring winner’s receive their prize before exiting the event.
Food Station Patrol
We will have multiple food stations set up, with staff being brought in from each establishment. Volunteers will check in with each station’s staff to access their needs and relay information to the food supervisor accordingly.
Coat Check:
Volunteers will manage coat-check at both the beginning and end of the event for six hundred guests.
Casino:
To add a little flare to our Las Vegas inspired theme, we will have three black jack tables on site for guests to enjoy. Guests will be playing for raffle tickets - not money. Volunteers will help with guest purchases of chips and guest "cash outs" of chips for raffle tickets.
**Volunteers will have a point of contact/supervisor at each station. As a part of their rotation, Volunteers will be given a "networking/food break" where they are welcome to enjoy food samplings and network with our guests. We kindly ask that volunteers refrain from indulging in alcoholic beverages at the event**
Time Obligation:
30-minute Volunteer Orientation via Zoom - Tuesday April 22 @ 7pm
Day of (Saturday, April 26th) 6:15pm - 11:30pm

Description
Team Fox is The Michael J. Fox Foundation's grassroots community project raising funds and awareness for Parkinson's research. Team Fox allows you to turn your next marathon, golf tournament, auction or special event into an opportunity to support the valuable work of The Michael J. Fox Foundation. There are hundreds of fun and creative ways to get involved - you can make a difference just by asking friends and family for support.
More than six million people worldwide are living with Parkinson's disease today. There are currently no known ways to prevent or accurately predict who will develop Parkinson's disease, but scientists believe that, of all the brain disorders, Parkinson's is the one closest to a cure. You can help make that happen.
