We are looking for someone to help us create a memorial / season year-end video to be shown at the 2025 Ruey Classic, which is scheduled for Saturday, June 21st from 12:30pm to 4:30pm, in video. The video that was done for us in 2021, "Tribute Video" may be seen here - Ruey Classic 2021, Newark | SoulPhamm Inc.
The Ruey Classic is an annual memorial basketball game which honors the life and memory of SoulPhamm’s Co-Founder, Coach Luis Herrera who passed away suddenly in 2021. This year's event will be more somber, as we will be remembering our organization's mascot (Ms. Chaka) and one of our basketball players (Andrew #38) who passed away this season. This year's video will include some footage of Coach Lou from the original video, but will also incorporate some videos of Ms. Chaka and a couple of pictures of Andrew. Additionally, as it is also a celebratory video commemorating the end of the season, it will incorporate some footage of our basketball players, cheerleaders, majorettes, sorority students, and STEM team. We will create a shared Google Drive to include videos and pictures that you can choose from.
We post the resulting video (with credit to the creator) on our website and social media channels (Tik Tok, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook). In addition to adding the finished product to your own portfolio, we would be proud to serve as a professional reference for you. Ideally, the finished product would be turned a week before the event (June 14th).
A portfolio which shows samples of videos you’ve done in the past would be helpful but is not required.

Our vision is to promote virtue, equity, unity, justice, faith, charity and a sense of common purpose and brotherhood among all people with an emphasis on the development and advancement of young people through education, athletics, service and the arts.
SoulPhamm was incorporated as a nonprofit organization in the state of New Jersey on June 25, 2021 and is the "birth-child" of Coach Luis ("Lou") and Dr. Leisa Herrera ("Mz. Doc"). The organization exists to provide training to young people in a variety of sports and performing arts and unique opportunities to display those talents through competition and performance. By integrating mentoring, life skills, opportunities for community service and academic enrichment to the athletic/artistic program, we help make our scholar-athletes as well-rounded as possible, capable of meeting and overcoming any challenges they are faced with. Although Coach Lou passed away suddenly in January 2021, the official launch of SoulPhamm was held on June 26, 2021, which coincided with his birthday weekend. SoulPhamm will recognize its own founding, as well as the achievements of our young people every year on the fourth Saturday of June, as a tribute to the life and legacy of Coach Lou.
