About Save Starlight

Save Starlight is a nonprofit organization dedicated to restoring the historic Starlight Bowl amphitheater in San Diego's Balboa Park. This iconic venue has been a cultural landmark since the 1930s, and our organization is working to transform it into a vibrant community space for performances, events, and gatherings once again.

Project Scope

As our Web Design Volunteer, you'll be responsible for:

• Completely redesigning the Save Starlight website with a modern, eye-catching aesthetic
• Creating an intuitive user experience that effectively tells the story of the Starlight Bowl
• Developing a responsive design that works across all devices
• Implementing compelling visual elements that capture attention and inspire action
• Building a site architecture that supports fundraising and community engagement goals

What We're Looking For

• Experience in web design, UX/UI design, or graphic design
• Proficiency with design tools
• Understanding of web development principles (HTML/CSS)
• Knowledge of Squarespace (where website is currently built) or similar CMS platforms
• An eye for creating visually striking yet professional designs
• Passion for historical preservation and community arts projects

Time Commitment
