Summer Camp Volunteers Needed!
Be a Part of Something Special - Join Our Summer Camp 'Ohana!
We’re looking for amazing volunteers to join us this summer and make a real difference in the lives of our keiki and teens. Whether you can help for a day, a week, or the whole summer-we’d love to have you on our team!
General Volunteers:Can Volunteer ONE Day or several: July 8th-12th, July 14th-16th
Help us keep camp fun, safe, and running smoothly! We're looking for friendly faces to:
Assist with daily activities and games
Supervise campers in small groups
Help with setup and cleanup
Support our staff and bring great energy!
No experience necessary-just a big heart and willingness to help. Must be 21+ or a college student
Lifeguard Volunteer NeededDo you have lifeguard certification? We’re in need of a Lifeguard (doesn't have to be certified) to assist during water play at the selected Ocean parks.
Must have current CPR
Experience with young children (5-9 years)
Dates and times: July 10th Reeds Bay 10a-12p/ July 14th-15th Onekahakaha Beach Park 10a-12p
Camp runs through July in the Hilo and Kea'au areas.

Description
Project Hawai’i, Inc. is a volunteer-staffed, award-winning nonprofit dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty for Hawai’i’s homeless children. Operating on the islands of Hawai’i, O’ahu, and Maui, our mission is to empower keiki through education, mentorship, and life-changing experiences.
Founded in 2003, Project Hawai’i, Inc. is supported solely by public donations, allowing 100% of contributions to directly benefit the children we serve. Our programs focus on providing essential needs like food, clothing, and hygiene supplies while creating opportunities for long-term growth and success.
Core Programs Include:
- Transitional Housing:
- Dormitory Program: Supportive housing for teens pursuing higher education, removing barriers to academic and personal success.
- Mommy and Me Program: Workshops and resources to help homeless mothers care for their babies, fostering healthier outcomes.
- Summer Educational Camp: A hands-on, mentorship-driven program offering STEM activities and confidence-building experiences.
- Holiday Celebrations:
- Healthy Hearts for Homeless Keiki: Ensuring children can participate in school sports with necessary gear, promoting teamwork and self-esteem.
