Family Services Division - Catholic Charities Baltimore
The Therapeutic Mentoring Program is recruiting mentors in Harford County. We are a one-to-one (temporarily e-mentoring), strength-based mentoring service for youth receiving treatment for emotional disabilities. Founded in 1998, the program matches youth, ages 9 to 17 with adult mentors. Orientation and training provided by our professional volunteer team and clinical staff. At this time, visits between mentors and mentees are conducted most often via Zoom. Virtual resources and program support to mentors is always available.
Mentors become a special visitor, a positive role model and a consistent person in a child's life. Children learn that a healthy relationship includes trust and responsibility. We have seen this serious and personal commitment by an adult change a child's life.
