The 7th Annual Sound Mind Music Festival for Mental Health is happening on Saturday, May 17th at the Sound Mind Center in DUMBO & Sunday May 18th at the Brooklyn Paramount in downtown Brooklyn. The festival will host live music performances from BØRNS, American Authors and MILCK and feature mental health panel discussions, a dance party, an interactive choir and wellnes sessions, along with featuring mental health organizations providing resources for their services.
Volunteers are needed in a variety of roles for 6 hour shifts including, but not limited to:
-Setting up and breaking down tables, chairs and booths
-Greeting guests
-Providing information and directions for guests
-Assisting at panel discussions and wellness sessions
-Advocating for mental health at the Sound Mind booth
-Backstage Hospitality
May 17th events will take place at the Sound Mind Center in DUMBO. May 18th events will take place at the Brooklyn Paramount theater. All volunteers, regardless of which day they help, will get free entry to the concert at Brooklyn Paramount.

Description
Sound Mind Live is a non-profit organization that brings together musicians, music lovers, and forward-thinking organizations to foster community, open dialogue, and action around mental health through the power of music. Sound Mind events and programs create safe spaces where music and open conversations about mental health coexist through collaboration between artists, audiences, and organizations that provide direct mental health support. Sound Mind Live's work includes live concert events, podcast and video programming, and the annual Sound Mind Music Festival for Mental Health in New York City each May, as well as providing mental health resources in partnership with artist tours and venues around the country.

REQUIREMENTS
- This is a Done in a Day opportunity and there is no prior training or ongoing commitment needed.
- Must be at least 18
- We're asking volunteers to commit to a shift of 6 hours and expect to be standing for a majority of that time.
- All volunteers must sign a liability waiver on the day of their shift and must be over 18 years of age. All volunteers are also strongly encouraged to attend an online orientation 1 week prior to the event.
