We are looking for volunteers to help with our Girls on the Run End of Season Spring 5K Celebration. We’re seeking volunteers to help us with various tasks at the 5K.

Saturday, May 3rd at Kleiner Park between 8-12pm

This closing event gives participants of all abilities a tangible sense of accomplishment. Crossing the finish line instills confidence through completion and is a joyful moment program participants always remember!

Volunteer Event Details:

Where: Kleiner Park in Meridian (1900 N Records Ave, Meridian, ID 83642)

When: Sat, May 3rd 8:30 am - 12:30pm

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Course Monitors: Direct runners on the course
  • Set-Up & Break-Down: Help set up tents, tables, and signage before the event, and assist with breaking everything down afterward.
  • Starting line leaders - guide groups of schools to the starting area
  • Finish Line: Hand out water, flowers, and medals as participants finish
  • Shine Bright Studio - help spray color on participants hair and bedazzle their hair and race bibs!
  • Lap Counters: Distribute bracelets to help girls count their laps during the race.
  • "Show Us 3" Station: Ensure girls show their three bracelets, confirming they've completed their laps before heading to the finish line. Dressing up and making it fun is encouraged!
  • Refuel Station: handout fuel to participants after the race.

Come Prepared! - Be sure to come dressed for the weather. We will run rain or shine. So we encourage you to dress up and make it fun for you and the girls!

Mission Statement

We inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. At Girls on the Run Treasure Valley, teaching essential life skills is the cornerstone of our research-based programs. Trained volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy.

Description

Girls on the Run inspires individuals of all abilities to discover, build, and grow their self-confidence. Together, they experience a sense of belonging and connection as a team. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development, including managing emotions, fostering friendships, and expressing empathy. At the end of the season, the team completes a Community Impact Project and a 5K together, which provides a tangible sense of accomplishment and sets a confident mindset into motion.
