ORGANIZATION: Disaster Accountability Project

We’re looking for a Metrics & Impact to help us track, measure, and communicate the real-world impact of our work. You’ll build systems that help us understand and show what’s working, how many people we are reaching, and how we’re creating value, not just for donors, but for companies that partner with us too. You’ll help turn our work into data people can trust and stories that matter.

The work will include

· Measuring what matters

o Build a simple but solid way to track what we’re doing and how it’s helping

o Define clear metrics, like how many NGOs we’re mapping, what kind of help they provide, where they are working

o Help write impact updates and reports we can share with donors and partners

· Helping donors and platforms see the value

o Create easy-to-read dashboards, visuals, and updates that tell our story with clarity and purpose

· Speaking the corporate language

o Help companies who support us see how their donation connects to ESG goals, SDGs, and real community impact

o Work with our team to shape data into stories and visuals that corporate partners can use in reports and comms

o Stay on top of ESG trends so we can keep showing up as a relevant, high-impact partner

· Tracking volunteer contributions

o Measure how employee volunteers (through Benevity or Alaya) are making a difference

o Put numbers on things like hours donated, areas mapped, people reached and turn that into real-dollar value

o Build simple reports companies can use to share internally or include their CSR updates

· Making tools that make sense

o Set up easy to use templates, trackers, and checklists for the team

o Support staff and volunteers so they’re confident gathering and using data

· Helping SmartResponse grow as a product

o Track how SmartResponse is being used and by whom, and help us identify how to improve it

o Collect feedback from NGOs, volunteers, and users to understand value and usability

o Build case studies and visuals that show why SmartResponse matters, and why it’s worth investing in

o Work with leadership to position SmartResponse as a scalable, fundable product for companies and their supply chains

o Set up easy to use templates, trackers and checklists for the team

o Support staff and volunteers so they’re confident gathering and using data

Requirements:

· 3+ years of experience in impact measurement, analytics, or nonprofit evaluation

· Know how to build frameworks that help organizations track and communicate progress

· Can turn numbers into stories that are easy to understand and inspiring

· Are comfortable using Excel, Google Sheets and have played around with tools like Airtable, Power BI, or similar

· Enjoy collaborating with a remote team working on big, meaningful problems

Bonus points:

· If the person knows their way around ESG frameworks like GRI, SDGs or ISSB

· Have worked in or with social impact tech or civic tech

· Understand how employee volunteering platforms work and how they’re used in CSR

About Disaster Accountability Project

Location:

4402 Bestor Dr, Rockville, MD 20853, US

Mission Statement

Disaster Accountability Project saves lives and reduces suffering by maximizing the effectiveness, efficiency, and equity of disaster preparedness, response, relief, and recovery through oversight, transparency, advocacy, and public education.

Description

DAP is the leading nonprofit organization that provides long-term independent oversight of disaster management systems.

DAP engages a dedicated community to advance policy research and advocacy, promote transparency, and encourage the public to participate in oversight, community-based organizing, and discussions about disaster preparedness and relief.

Dedicated citizen oversight is necessary to ensure resources dedicated to preparedness, relief, and recovery are effectively utilized, communities are sufficiently engaged and more resilient, and best practices and lessons learned are implemented so mistakes are not repeated.

Prior to the creation of the Disaster Accountability Project (DAP), there was no dedicated, independent oversight of the agencies and organizations responsible for these critical life-saving responsibilities.
