HeartShare is seeking volunteers to help at our 45th Annual Buckley's-Kennedy's Charity run and BBQ. All proceeds from the run will support HeartShare's mission to nurture and support indidvduals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them reach their full potential. Join us for a fun day all while making a difference!
Volunteers are needed between the hours of 7am to 4:30pm on the day of the race, Sunday, June 8th, to perform the following tasks:
- Register runners
- Set-up and Clean-up
- Distribute T-shirts
- Help direct traffic
- Serve water along the course
- Run mile marker and finish line stations
- Registration near start line - 7am to 9am
- Distribute T-shirts - 7am to 9am
- Help Direct Traffic - 7am to 9am
- Water Stop near Sugar Bowl - 10am-11:30am
- Finish Line - 10am to 1pm
- Set-up and clean-up (various locations)- any volunteers in between tasks
We also need volunteers to help with pre-registration at the following locations:
- Buckley's Resturant (2926 Avenue S, Brooklyn, NY 11229)
- Friday, June 6th- 3pm-8pm
- Saturday, June 7th- 12pm-6pm
- Kennedy's Resturant (406 Bayside, Rockaway Point, NY 11697)
- Friday, June 6th- 12pm-6pm
- Saturday, June 7th- 1pm-5pm

HeartShare Human Services of New York nurtures and empowers children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, such as autism, Down Syndrome and cerebral palsy and supports their families. The mission of HeartShare Human Services is to expand the opportunities presented to people with disabilities, and to enhance the lives of the individuals that we support.
Description
HeartShare Human Services of New York nurtures and empowers children and adults diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorders, through educational, life skills and vocational training, residential, case management, recreational, family support and health care services. HeartShare St. Vincent’s Services (HSVS) supports children, adults and families living in crisis due to experiences with poverty. Since its founding in 1914, HeartShare has expanded its reach to over 100 program sites in Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island, as well as to 60 of the 62 New York counties through energy grants to low-income families. HeartShare is proud that 90% of all revenue goes directly to its programs and services. HeartShare is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Services for Families and Children and is a Better Business Bureau Accredited Charity.
