United Safe Environment Creators (USEC) is a refugee-led community-based organization working in Kakuma Refugee Camp and Kalobeyei Settlement, Kenya. Among our four flagship programs - Education, Child Protection, Livelihoods, and Climate Change - we run an early childhood education initiative that integrates Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) to support children’s holistic development.
We are seeking a volunteer with experience or interest in SEL to support the enhancement of our SEL content, training for educators, and tools to assess children's emotional and social progress. This opportunity is ideal for someone passionate about education, child development, and trauma-informed approaches in low-resource settings. The role can be remote, but in-person participation is warmly welcome.

Description
United Safe Environment Creators is a grassroots, non-profit, community-based organization run by refugees in the Kakuma refugee camp. It started in 2015 and was registered under the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Service with reg. SCSDO/CBO/BO-201 and certificate no. 38613.
We are a group of dynamic and passionate refugees committed to creating a better future for ourselves and our communities. Our organization was founded in the Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya, and we are proud to be a community-based initiative that addresses crucial issues such as education, livelihood, and child protection. We collaborate with the Global Family Reunification Network (FRUN) to reconnect separated children with their families, ensuring every child has a safe, loving environment where they thrive. We have recently joined the UNHCR EHAGL Regional Community-Based Protection Network (R-CBPN) to improve the provision of basic protection and assistance services to vulnerable forcibly displaced populations and individuals affected by serious human rights violations
