We are seeking a seasoned Volunteer HR Consultant to develop and manage our Human Resources department. This pivotal role involves establishing HR systems from the ground up, with a strong emphasis on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI), directly contributing to the growth and sustainability of our mission-driven organization.Key Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Create, implement, and update HR policies and procedures that align with nonprofit standards, legal compliance, and DEI best practices.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal employment laws and nonprofit regulations.
- Volunteer Management: Oversee processes related to recruitment, onboarding, and training of volunteers, ensuring inclusivity and comprehensive documentation.
- DEI Initiatives: Develop and implement strategies to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization.
- Risk Management: Identify potential HR risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Training: Educate staff and volunteers on compliance-related topics, including DEI, workplace ethics, and organizational culture.
- Records Management: Maintain secure and organized HR records to ensure accessibility and confidentiality.
- Audit Preparation: Assist in preparing for internal and external audits related to HR practices and compliance.
Qualifications
- Extensive HR Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Human Resources, with significant experience in the nonprofit sector.
- DEI Expertise: Proven track record in developing and implementing DEI initiatives within an organization.
- Leadership Skills: Experience in leading HR teams and managing organizational change.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with strong interpersonal skills.
- Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and project management capabilities.
- Passion for Mission: A deep commitment to community work and serving youth-focused missions.
