Are you looking for a way to give back to your community and provide comfort to those in need? Wentworth Homecare & Hospice is seeking compassionatte and dedicated volunteers to join our team as a Hospice Companions.

What is a Hospice Companion?

As a Hospice Companion, you'll provide invaluable emotional and social support to individuals facing a life-limiting illness. Your presence can bring comfort, companionship, and a sense of connection during a challenging time.

What You'll Do:

• Spend quality time with patients, offering a listening ear and a caring presence.
• Engage in meaningful conversations, read aloud, or simply sit quietly with patients.
• Provide respite for family caregivers, allowing them to take a break.
• Share hobbies or interest with patients, if desired.

What We're Looking For:

• Compassionate and empathetic individuals.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• A genuine desire to help others.
• Reliability and commitment.
• Willingness to complete our onboarding paperwork, online training, and annual education.

Training and Support:

We provide online training and volunteer orientation to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to be a successful Hospice Companion. Ongoing Support from our volunteer coordinator.
