Are you looking for a way to give back to your community and provide comfort to those in need? Beacon Hospice is seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteers to join our Hospice Volunteer team.

What is a Hospice Companion?

As a Hospice Companion, you'll provide invaluable emotional and social support to individuals facing a life-limiting illness. Your presence can bring comfort, companionship, and a sense of connection during a challenging time.

What You'll Do:

• Spead quality time with patients, offering a listening ear and a caring experience.
• Engage in meaningful conversatioons, read aloud, or simply sit quietly with patients.
• Provide respite for family caregivers, allowing them to take a break.
• Share Hobbies or interest with patients, if desired.
• Sometimes, assist with light tasks, like playing music, or writing letters.

• Compassionate and empathetic individuals.
• Execellent listening and communication skills.
• A genuine desire to help others.
• Reliability and commitment.
• Respect for patient confidentiality and dignity.
• Willingness to complete our volunteer onboarding, training, and annual educational requirements.

Training and Support:

We provide online training and volunteer orientation to equip you with the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful as Hospice Companion. On-going support available from our volunteer coordinator.
