Are you looking for a way to give back to your community and provide comfort to those in need? Beacon Hospice is seeking compassionate and dedicated volunteers to join our team as Hospice Companions.

What is a Hospice Companion?

As a Hospice Companion, you'll provide invaluable emotional and social support to individuals facing a life-limiting illness. Your presence can bring comfort, companionship, and a sense of connection during a challenging time.

What You'll Do:

• Spend quality time with patients, offering a listening ear, and a caring presence.
• Engage in meaningful conversation, read aloud, or simply sit quietly with patients.
• Provide respite for family caregivers, allowing them to take a break.
• Share hobbies or interests with patients, if desired.
• Sometimes, assist with light task, like playing music, or writing letters.

What We're Looking For:

• Compassionate and empathetic individuals.
• Excellent listening and communication skills.
• A genuine desire to help others.
• Reliability and commitment.
• Respect for patient confidentiality and dignity.
• Willingness to complete our volunteer onboarding, training including orientation, and annual education.
