Our volunteer coordinator enjoys getting to know people and finding win-win solutions to match volunteer interests with the museum's needs. We are a 100% volunteer organization so this role is vital for keeping the museum programs active and funded! Some of your work will be at DuPont Historical Museum, but much can be done remotely:

  • create and update volunteer advertisements for social media and other outreach
  • interview volunteer applicants and select appropriate assignments
  • maintain basic volunteer records, such as contact information
  • recruit for specific organization needs as they arise
  • communicate regularly with volunteers to share appreciation and support their satisfaction
  • report any conflicts or concerns
  • advise Board of Directors on annual volunteer appreciation efforts

This role can be divided between two people. We ask for a commitment of 6-12 months. Weekly responsibilities may range from 1-6 hours. You'll have freedom to design procedures and methods that suit your work style, and support to manage the goals you set!

Our program currently has ~12 regularly active volunteers and ~60 occasional volunteers throughout the year.
