About Us

Vietnam Animal Aid and Rescue-US is a registered US 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in 2013. We operate an animal rescue shelter and farm sanctuary in Hoi An, Vietnam. We also collaborate with the Vietnamese government (Phong Dien Wildlife Rescue) to care for animals rescued from the wildlife trade.

VAAR is currently the only animal rights organization in Vietnam that explicitly advocates for a fully vegan lifestyle and the abolition of all animal use in the name of animal rights, the environment, food security, and public health.

About the Role

We are recruiting for three internship teams that will report to our Director of Operations:

  1. Fund Development & Donor Engagement Intern Team
  • Assist with researching grant opportunities
  • Assist with draft grant proposals
  • Support the development of ethical corporate sponsorships, including identifying mission-aligned brands, drafting outreach materials, and tracking leads
  • Draft and edit donor communications and fundraising campaigns
  • Help us implement our Q2 fundraising campaign
  • Contribute to planning our Q3 fundraising campaign
  1. Marketing & Communications Intern Team
  • Assist with social media planning and content writing
  • Support blog posts, media outreach, and visual storytelling
  • Help design donor-facing materials and impact reports
  • Collaborate with our marketing manager to expand digital reach
  1. Nonprofit Management & Operations Intern Team
  • Support organizational infrastructure development (files, SOPs, calendars)
  • Help draft internal policies and onboarding guides
  • Assist with reporting, transparency documentation, and impact tracking
  • Learn about remote nonprofit compliance and governance

Qualifications

  • Passionate about animal rights (dedicated vegans preferred)
  • Excellent written communication and organizational skills
  • Comfortable working independently and on flexible schedules
  • Experience in nonprofit work, research, marketing, or communications preferred
  • Interns must have access to a stable internet connection and basic office software (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.)
