ORGANIZATION: INSTITUTE OF SOCIAL CHANGE

The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the organization’s financial health and ensuring all funds are used effectively to advance the mission.

  • Act as the primary gatekeeper for organizational funds, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures outlined in the bylaws.

  • Collaborate with the Executive Director and Board to monitor the annual budget.

  • Maintain accurate financial records, including income, expenses, and assets, and ensure proper documentation of all transactions.

  • Prepare and present regular financial reports (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow) to the Board.

  • Facilitate the annual audit process and address any findings or recommendations to improve financial practices.

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial reporting and tax obligations, including filing required documents such as IRS Form 990.

  • Monitor cash flow and oversee banking relationships to ensure the organization can meet its financial obligations.

  • Develop and recommend financial policies to ensure sound financial management and accountability.

  • Support fundraising efforts by providing financial data for grant applications and donor proposals.

  • Communicate the organization’s financial health to donors and stakeholders.

  • Work closely with the Board and Executive Director to align financial strategy with organizational goals.
