Fountain Theatre Props and Costumes Inventory Project

ORGANIZATION: The Fountain Theatre

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

We need to take pictures of every single prop and costume in our stock, and attach them to a short Google Doc form that identifies the item and its location.

Also requires a willingness to climb a ladder (I can’t) and bring down boxes/bins of props, and pull down costumes, and then return them after they are inventoried.

Props: all boxes/bins of props must be pulled out, opened, props unwrapped, photographed and identified, re-wrapped, boxes/bins re-packed and returned to their storage space. Use your phone, an iPad, whatever device you prefer. At the end of the day, just forward all images to me then delete them so they don't take up your valuable space.:-)

Costumes: hang on two pipes (upper and lower.) Same process as props...photograph each costume, and attach them to a short Google Doc form that identifies the costume and its location, and return costumes to their storage space.

Entire inventory needs to be completed by the end of May.

About The Fountain Theatre

Location:

5060 FOUNTAIN AVE, LOS ANGELES, CA 90029, US

Mission Statement

The Fountain Theatre is a non-profit producing organization established in 1990 by Deborah Lawlor and Stephen Sachs that is dedicated to providing a nurturing, creative home for multi-ethnic theatre and dance artists. Here we develop provocative new works or explore a unique vision of established plays that reflect the immediate concerns and cultural diversity of contemporary Los Angeles and the nation. In an era of urban anxiety, ethnic hostility and wavering spirit, the Fountain offers a safe, supportive haven for artists of varied backgrounds to gather, interact and inspire each other toward the creation of work that will ignite and illuminate the community from which it’s drawn and give creative voice to those who may not otherwise be heard.

Description

The Fountain Theatre is an award-winning non-profit producing organization dedicated to providing a creative home for our diverse community and giving voice to under-served communities throughout Los Angeles. The Fountain Theatre aims to support the social and cultural life of Los Angeles and the nation, as evidenced by our purposeful selections of plays and events that reflect contemporary issues such as race, religion, and the economy. The Fountain Theatre sits in Los Angeles County's 3rd District, the most ethnically diverse district in the county and perhaps the nation. The Fountain has been celebrated for over 35 years for its unwavering commitment to the underrepresented voices of our community. Our unique role in the arts community and in Los Angeles as a whole works to ensure that important under-recognized issues are brought to public attention and given the exposure that they deserve.
