Event Name: AASCSC Annual Ma(n)y Celebration Event
Event Date/Time: Saturday, May 3rd, 2025 (8:00 AM - 3:00 PM)
Event Location: Heritage Museum OC (3101 W Harvard St, Santa Ana, CA 92704)
Event Description: Ma(n)y Celebration is a celebration of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, Mental Health Awareness Month, Mother’s Day, and many more on Saturday, May 3rd at Heritage Museum OC! Volunteers can help in various ways, including but not limited to translating with older adults, handling food, taking pictures and videos, facilitating arts and crafts, assisting with the fashion show, boothing for AASCSC, set up, tear down, and more.
Volunteer Usage: All volunteers will be needed from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM on May 3rd, Saturday. All volunteers are not limited to one role and can move around depending on what needs help. Here are the various tasks: 1. Older adult engagement - translating for Chinese-speaking older adults in various capacities including older adult pickup/drop off, handing out food, or general questions. 2. AASCSC Booth - engage with participants at the AASCSC booth. 3. Media volunteer (2 volunteers) - taking pictures and videos throughout the event and during performances. 4. Arts and Crafts Facilitator - facilitating the arts and crafts booth. 5. Fashion Show Assistant - organizing the participants at the fashion show, handing out and counting the judges' scores, check-in fashion show models, assist in flow control and timing, etc. 6. Food Handler - Assist with plating food and providing food to guests and partners. 7. Parking - guide guests to check-in area, ensure traffic safety, redirect guests to additional parking, etc. 8. Game Zone Assistant - Assisting in game zone. 9. Health Zone Assistant - Assisting in the health zone. 10. Set-up - 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM 11. Tear-down - 1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

The Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center (AASCSC) is a non-profit organization founded in 1989 entrusted to serve, protect, and celebrate the most vulnerable elders, youth, and families as they progress through different stages of life. AASCSC believes in an intergenerational approach to building a stronger and healthier community through direct services, advocacy, and capacity building. AASCSC is motivated by the vision and culture to build collaboratives to move hearts and minds. We understand what is already present in communities and is intentional about strengthening cultural resilience, which is a key component to amplifying the community’s presence and power to achieving equitable community development. Description
The Asian American Senior Citizens Service Center (AASCSC) is a non-profit organization, based in Orange County, CA (our center is in Santa Ana), that serves all age groups and all community members through an intergenerational approach with a focus on building a stronger and healthier community. AASCSC works closely with other nonprofits and government agencies to promote community health (including social determinants of health), provide direct health services, and to continuously advocate for our community. At the heart of these efforts is our underlying goal to strive for and ensure health equity within our community.
