Desert Farms2Table a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization host our C.A.M.P. (Community Action Market & Produce) program with market locations on Saturday mornings reoccurring on the same weekend each month. At each farmers market with a $15 donation, supporters receive quality fruits and vegetables at an affordable cost with limits to help supplement meals in Arizona communities but most importantly reduce hunger, food insecurity and food waste. Each donation helps support the mission of Desert Farms2Table.
Produce is delivered to the market location as early at 3:30 am, volunteers arrive as early 4am. The following shifts consist of 4:30-8:30 am, 7:30-11:30 am or a full shift. Limits are designated and will be available through out the market in a menu format. Early morning volunteers roles are to sort the produce and arrange it in a produce line so supporters can easily receive their produce while pushing their boxes (card board boxes are supplied or supporters can bring their own bags or carts) through or prepackage produce boxes.
Roles consists of replenishment of the produce line but most importantly with the clean-up of the market such as breaking down and flattening of cardboard boxes, cleaning and putting tables away and sweeping the parking lot. Our partnered host would like the parking lot to be returned in the same condition before the produce was delivered.
Each successful C.A.M.P. (Community Action Market & Produce) market is run by a group of dedicated volunteers, We truly cherish everyone who helps so supporters can eat nutritiously. PLEASE SIGN UP TO HELP!
