About the Role:
The Virtual Life Coach Mentor working in the Programs Department will focus on mentoring and guiding our life coaching staff. The Mentor’s background in coaching, mental wellness, therapy, and supportive services will help strengthen the skills of our life coaches as they work with clients to set goals, build confidence, and overcome barriers. Encouraging empathy, motivation, and professional growth, the Mentor will contribute to our mission of restoring hope and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Mentorship and Skill Development: R esponsible for providing personalized mentorship to life coaches, offering insight on effective coaching strategies, client goal-setting , and self-care. Support mentees in navigating real-life coaching scenarios and personal development plans.
- Client-Centered Approach: E mphasize trauma-informed care, active listening, and cultural sensitivity that help life coaches build trust and empower relationships with their clients.
- Case Management Collaboration: Work closely with case managers to discuss holistic needs, and assist in coordinating services for clients with mental health challenges.
- Ethical Practices: R einforce ethical standards in confidentiality, boundaries, and professional conduct while discussing self-awareness and countertransference.
- Professional Development: Encourage ongoing learning, reflection, and skill-building, and share resources related to wellness, coaching best practices, and motivational techniques to support mentee growth.
- Collaboration: P articipate in interdisciplinary team meetings while also encouraging a supportive environment for mental health professionals.
Requirements:
- Must currently reside in the U.S. or have prior work experience in the field within the U.S.
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or related studies
- 3-5+ years experience as a therapist, social worker, case manager, or other related field.
- Must possess a valid license in the state of California as a mental health supervisor/clinician (MFT, LCSW, Ph.D.) and active registration with the California Board of Behavioral Science
- Experience in individual and group therapy with knowledge of mental health assessment tools.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and encourage, and be an active listener who promotes reflective practice.
Time Commitment:
- 1-year minimum
- 5 hrs./week including mandatory meetings
- Must be able to attend the following weekly meetings:
- All Staff Weekly Meetings: Tuesdays 9 AM - 10 AM PST
- Programs Department Weekly Meetings: 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM PST (with an hour lunch between 12 PM - 1 PM)
