Position Summary:
The Esports Volunteer Coach plays a key role in guiding and mentoring youth participating in
our growing esports program. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about gaming,
youth development, and teamwork. The coach helps create a safe, inclusive, and fun learning
environment where players build skills, grow confidence, and develop positive gaming habits.
Responsibilities:
 Coach and mentor youth ages 10-18 in competitive and recreational esports titles (e.g.,
Rocket League, Fortnite, Super Smash Bros., League of Legends)
 Support team practices, scrimmages, and tournaments, ensuring positive sportsmanship
and teamwork
 Provide basic game strategy, communication tips, and skill-building guidance
 Encourage healthy gaming habits and promote digital citizenship
 Assist with setup and maintenance of gaming equipment and software
 Model respect, patience, and leadership in all interactions
Qualifications:
 Knowledge of popular esports games and gaming culture
 Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially with youth
 Ability to lead by example and maintain a positive, encouraging atmosphere
 Prior coaching or mentoring experience is a plus
 Must be able to pass a background check
