About Wetacom:

Wetacom is a nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing education access for marginalized youth in Mwanza, Tanzania. We focus on providing vocational training, empowering girls to pursue non-traditional careers, and supporting street families in their journey toward financial independence. As part of our mission, Wetacom seeks creative and passionate volunteers to help bring our initiatives to life through compelling visuals.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a Canva Graphic Designer to join our team and support our campaigns, and social media outreach. As a volunteer graphic designer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful work while gaining experience in a nonprofit setting. You will collaborate with our team to create engaging designs that reflect the values of Wetacom and resonate with our target audience.

Responsibilities:

• Design promotional graphics for social media, fundraising campaigns, and event announcements

• Create visually appealing templates for reports, newsletters, and educational materials

• Collaborate with the Wetacom team to ensure all designs align with our brand and messaging

• Revise designs based on feedback and ensure that final products meet our standards

• Assist with any other design-related tasks as needed

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Canva (experience with other design software is a plus)

• Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines

• Passion for supporting youth education and community development

• Prior volunteer or work experience in graphic design (preferred, but not required)

Time Commitment:

This is a remote, part-time volunteer position. We are flexible with hours but expect a commitment of approximately 5-10 hours per week.
